~ What's On in 2011/12 ~
The
Society's Meetings are normally held on the
first Monday
or Friday of each month at 7.30 pm at the
Franklin Hall,
Halton Road, Spilsby
CHANGES TO THE
SCHEDULE
Change to Regular Day of
Week – We continually give consideration as to which monthly evening
best suits our members, and this year the 1st Monday in May and June are also
both Bank Holidays. We will therefore suggest at the AGM that as from May
2012 we change to holding our monthly meetings on the 1st FRIDAY in each month.
Use of Smaller Room –
We will also use the smaller Conference Room at Franklin Hall. Although this can
occasionally be cramped the Main Hall is always far too big. A number of members
have said they would prefer moving back to a smaller room
End of December Meetings –
December seems to be a very busy month for Members as our attendances are
traditionally always lower, and it also difficult to find speakers at that time
of year. We will therefore also be recommending at the AGM that we
discontinue having a meeting in December.
No Change Until May 2012 –
Our meetings in March and April 2012 will still, however, be held on the 1st
Mondays (5th March and 2nd April), as we have already secured excellent
returning speakers for these.

who sailed with either Captain Cook in 1766 - 1779, or later with
